About Reel

Reel is creating a new way of buying electricity to accelerate the renewable energy transition. We are on a mission to empower companies to make a positive climate difference through the electricity they buy and consume. Reel enables all companies to enter a new type of electricity contract (Power Purchase Agreement, PPA) that reduces CO₂ emissions by adding new green electricity to the grid.

Our vision is a world running 100 % on renewables. We want to create significant climate impact and help companies reduce emissions while decarbonizing our electricity grid with renewable energy.

We are backed by first-class venture and sustainability-focused investors, senior industry executives, and successful founders. We have received numerous awards, including Startup of the Year at the Technical University of Denmark, and been financed by Innovation Fund Denmark and the EU. We are based in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Why it matters

  • ⚡️ Electricity is the most important sector to prevent climate disaster: Electricity generation is the main source of carbon emissions. We need to decarbonize electricity fast!
  • 🏭 Industry is key: How companies buy electricity is of vital importance for the climate. Reel’s solution mitigates climate change while being commercially attractive for companies. It’s a no-brainer!
  • Current system is broken: No truly green electricity procurement solution is available for 99 % of all companies. Instead, they are limited to buying conventional “green” electricity that comes at a premium and does not reduce CO₂ emissions.
